Our test

Philosophy

At College Prep Genius, we believe standardized tests don’t have to be intimidating or overwhelming. Success isn’t just about knowing more—it’s about knowing how to approach the test strategically.

That belief is at the heart of everything we teach. Our test philosophy is built around helping students understand how standardized tests work, recognize patterns, think critically, and use proven strategies to work more efficiently. Rather than simply teaching students what to study, we teach them how to approach the test so they can walk into test day with greater confidence and a clear strategy.

A Smarter Way to Approach Standardized Tests

Real Strategies, Not Re-teaching High School

Standardized tests like the SAT, PSAT, ACT and CLT are reasoning tests.  Students in the College Prep Genius program will learn to approach each question carefully with a critical eye using logic skills. We do not reteach high school like many test prep programs. A collegiate level of math, reading, writing and language and science, are not going to get you a high test score. College Prep Genius’ tips and strategies will teach students how to sharpen the critical thinking skills needed to ace these tests.

30 Seconds or Less

On average, students have about a minute per question on these standardized tests. This doesn’t give students a lot of time! In fact, time is the number one reason many students bomb the SAT (and other standardized tests). If students don’t have the proper strategies, working problems the long way will burn up the clock and they will run out of time. College Prep Genius strategies teach students how to quickly identify if the right answers are right and if the wrong ones are wrong. Our goal is to show students how to answer questions in 30 seconds or less.

Practice, Practice, Practice!

A high standardized test score is achievable, but like most things in life, it takes the right tools, genuine effort, and consistent practice. Practice makes progress. Perfect practice makes perfect.

We like to say, “College Prep Genius is a program, not a pill.” Our strategies aren’t a quick fix or a substitute for hard work. We give students the proven strategies and techniques they need to approach the test more effectively, but students must put those strategies into practice to reach their goals.

Our courses provide the foundation. The real progress happens when students practice the strategies, commit them to memory, and learn to apply them confidently and consistently on test day.

There are  NO Bad test takers.

Standardized tests are not a measure of intelligence. While some students may naturally find logical reasoning easier, that doesn’t mean students who struggle with it are poor test takers. Logic and critical thinking are skills that can be developed and strengthened with practice.

Rather than simply studying for the test, students can learn to study the test itself. By understanding the patterns, question types, and strategies used on standardized tests, students can learn how to approach questions more effectively and improve their performance.

The goal isn’t to change who a student is—it’s to give them the tools and strategies to become a more confident, capable test taker.

Real Results, testimonies from college prep genius families

Free college can happen for you or your student.

Colleges and universities look at test prep scores not only for entrance, but also as a way of ranking themselves against other institutions. 85% of colleges will admit and reward scholarships on test scores alone.

Many don’t realize that a high test score can earn you or your student scholarship money.  Scholarships can include everything from books to room and board to even upgrading your dorm or giving spending cash. Some schools offer study-abroad stipends or even pay for grad school because of high test scores.

The dream college is the one you don’t have to pay for. And that dream is attainable for any student.
